A HUNGER STRIKE IN FRONT OF THE PARLAMENT

The national movement to increase medical education. (Kansanliike Lääkärikoulutuksen Lisäämiseksi ry.) and The Association for people which have problems with insurance company (Vakuutusongelmaisten liitto ry.)  have been in  hunger strike already nine (9) days. Both organizations wants to have more doctors,  vacancies to Finland and fight for human rights. There is a lost of 3 000 doctors in Finland nowadays. Almost every day you can read in the newspapers how difficult is to have medical help in Finland.

The fact is that the situation will get worst all the time and people get older and older. Many vacancies will not be filled, because we don´t have enough doctors. The Union of Doctors decrease the number of doctors from 600 to 350 during the years 1990 - 2000. There has to be at least 790 education places for the doctors that we can have the minimize medical care.

The Assoociation for people which have problems with insurance company demands following:

1. To effect the control and set up the administrator, when the administrator will get for responsibility and when needed also higher national court.
2. The hancicapped when needed can get their matters to the Popular Assembly.
3. The doctors in different level for appeal have to bee the specialist in the patients’ injuries.
4. When the handicapped gets the decision, which was turned down can with ten (10) years back get their matter reconsidered on the ground of the doctors’ fair statement.
